Haixian He received her MD degree from Shandong University School of Medicine in China. She completed an internship and residency in the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Department at the Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. She performed endoscopic sinus surgery and head and neck surgery for a couple of years. This included dealing with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat problems such as sinus disease, recurrent ear infections, obstructive sleep apnea, recurrent tonsillitis, laryngocarcinoma, hypopharyngeal carcinoma and neck masses. She currently serves as an attending doctor in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Department in Qilu Hospital and is obtaining a great deal of hands-on research experience. She was drawn to the field of hearing three years ago and her special interest now is caring for patients with hearing loss and vestibular disorders. She has accumulated extensive experience in a variety of hearing and vestibular tests including auditory brainstem response (ABR), otoacoustic emissions (OAE), electrocochleogram (ECochG), videonystagmography (VNG), vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), video head impulse test (vHIT) and vestibular autorotation test (VAT).
